Mall malls are crowded with everything from fashion stores to fashion boutiques, but in Conn., the post-Christmas shopping season is a little quieter than in many other states.
While the post office is open and the Christmas season is in full swing, the rest of the state is in a lull.
A few shops in Connecticut post offices and malls are still open, but they’re crowded with the Christmas rush, and there’s no way to get in on that festive shopping.
The Mall of America in New Haven closed its doors this past weekend, but it’s not the first time it has been shuttered.
In March, the Mall of New York shut down its doors for a year because it was too crowded.
That was the last time the Mall closed.
And last year, Mall of the Isles in Hartford closed after the city was too busy for residents.
It’s not clear when it might reopen.
In Connecticut, post offices are the last place you’ll find shopping.
You’ll find plenty of clothing, toys, electronics and more at the post offices, but most of the stores will close for Christmas.
But in the Northeast, post office closings are rare.
New York City and Boston are the only cities that have post offices open.
And in most other states, malls are closed on Christmas, but Connecticut post office closures have been relatively rare.
