The American Postal Service’s career advancement website has some interesting and relevant posts to consider for people seeking post office jobs.
Postmaster General Robert F. Maguire, who will become the second postmaster general of the United States, recently made a point of posting his thoughts on post office advancement.
He has been a strong advocate of post office openings and a proponent of the post office in general, Maguires post states in his post.
He said that it is time for America to move beyond the days of the gold rush when we were looking to build an industry to meet the demands of the 21st century.

As for the postmaster corps, Maguaire has a post about career prospects for the next generation of postmasters.
He noted that a number of post offices are planning to hire a new senior executive to help improve the post offices ability to deliver on its mission of delivering goods to our customers.
Maguires posts state that post offices will be required to work to improve their efficiency.
He says that the agency should strive to be better at what it does, especially in terms of its business.
“I think we need to make some really significant changes to the way that we do business,” Maguaires post says.
“And we should be doing it now, because it is the only way to get this right.”
Maguire also wrote about his time at the post, in which he worked as an assistant postmaster.
He was promoted to assistant post master in 2011 and served as the head of the Postmaster General’s staff in 2013.
He is also a member of the American Society of Postmasters, a member and former chairman of the board of directors of the National Association of Postal Employees, a former member of its board of trustees and former president of its National Board of Directors.
Maguairing also has an MBA from the University of Maryland and a degree from the Wharton School of the University at Buffalo.
He serves on the boards of directors for the United Parcel Service, the National Post Office Association and the National Postal Consumer Association.
