A year ago, Harry Potter fans were eagerly awaiting the premiere of the fourth Harry Potter film.
That excitement quickly turned to disappointment when Warner Bros. dropped the film, which is currently in pre-production, and the company’s own plans to release the film in 2019 and 2020 have fallen through.
Now, Potter fans have a chance to see what happens when the film finally lands.
In fact, the Potter world is in for a treat when it does.
Potter fans will be able to meet up with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling for the first time in 2019 when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 hits theaters.
Rowling has already hinted at the film’s release, and her Twitter account posted an image that appears to be the first look at what will be in the film.
The image also shows a poster for the film and a description of what will happen when the movie finally comes out.
Warner Bros., which has been making plans to make the film since 2016, says that Warner Bros.-produced films will feature more than 80 characters and scenes from the novels and film.
Warner is also working with a writer to create a story that “encompasses Harry Potter’s adventures, including his relationship with the Dursleys,” Warner Bros.’ social media director, Michael Azzopardi, told The Hollywood Reporter.
That story is being developed by the writer/producer of the novels, Emma Thompson.
Thompson’s involvement in the Harry Potter world came to light in July 2016 when The Huffington Post published an interview with the author.
She said that she’s been working on a story “to tell the story of Harry Potter,” and it will be “about a different version of Harry.”
Thompson said that the movie will “be the story you love to hate, a story of redemption, a great journey, and a journey through the world of magic.”
While Warner Bros./Blumhouse and the writer have yet to release any information on the story, a trailer that was posted on Twitter shows a man in a dark cloak who wanders through a castle.
He’s followed by a girl in a robe who carries a torch.
The trailer for Harry Potter, The Deathly Halls Part 2 shows a cloak draped over a boy’s head, a woman with a broom in her hand, and two witches, who wield a wand and a cauldron.
The trailer also shows two sets of stairs.
Warner says that it plans to reveal more information about the film “as it develops.”
